Morning everyone

Lovely, sunny, but chilly, start to the day. So we had a lie-in Rain forecast again for this afternoon.

Ground far too wet to do anything, so we'll just have a look and see what needs to be doing and also see how the veg are growing. Bit short this year, as no markets and the drogaria only had peas and broad beans.

So a day of doing not a lot. I'm reading some rather old books at the moment, so will get stuck into one of those.

Good morning Jan. I guess the rain was welcome?
A very dull, wet grey morning today.
Chicken for dinner. Far too wet here for any outside activities too. A trip to the Sainsbury's local for a paper is about as far as we'll go today.
There's one thing, we must have saved a fortune in petrol this year!

Good morning everybody,

It is dull and grey clouds and fine rain.
Have been to Tesco for our weekly shop. You can go in at (.30 a.m but the tills only open at 10.00 a.m.

Now just pootling with a coffee on here.
Like Cromwell has said, saving on petrol. Only fill up once a month now. Before lockdown it could be two or three times per month.
The tax from sale pf petrol has been reuced by over 50%. No long queues at the petrol pumps.

Well, that was exciting

We picked some lemons from our nice neighbours tree, some for us and gave some to our other nice neighbours. Went down to the recycling, got rid of that, spoke to a couple of people doing the same and even got a letter

And it as glorious, but we now have our rain

Afternoon all, it is a dull day here and the air is quite damp, but it is very mild and calm. We went out early for our walk, before 11am but it was already busy down at the harbour. We walked a bit further than usual finishing up on the closed golf course where it was quieter, did just over 5km. No plan for the rest of the day, I’ve sorted some laundry, that will be the extent of my domesticity!

Dull and overcast here

I imagine a lot of us have saved a fortune on petrol Crommers. My trip out to fill up on Friday was the first time I had to buy petrol since the first lockdown.

Having a very proud grandmother moment. Z's youngest Noah passed the 11 plus. So proud of him, he did it all by himself, no extra coaching etc. Tbh I wasn't too surprised, he really is a very clever boy

No excitement here today, taking it nice and easy. Roast chicken for dinner, strawberry blancmange with blackcurrant jelly for pud later.

It's one of those late autumn days where it never seems to get properly light - we've had the lamps on since about 2 O'clock We've had chilli for lunch - it was going to be for dinner, but we fancied it earlier

It's been a very grey and misty day here, We decided to still go for our usual Sunday walk - Durham this time as the seaside would be too hazy....but as usual there were far too many people about and crossing the bridges was a joke - it's always the younger ones who are not considerate and carry on walking over the narrow paths, older folk hang back until you've crossed. Grrrr!! Anyway, I managed just on 11k steps so if you count Fridays mammoth walk I have achieved my steps three days in a row now Treat was a Jaffa Cake scone and a flat white takeout at Secret Garden cafe....Tracy's scones are honestly the best I've ever had! And she's quite experimental with her flavours.

Trying to work out our Christmas plans.....I wish I knew what to do for the best....

I am considering getting the tree down from the loft! Haven't so far but may well do on Thursday, my next day off. People on our estate have already put outdoor lights up, and some have lit up reindeer and things outside, so pretty. The village lights have also been put on, we have a real tree with lights on in the main street and all the lampposts have lights on them. We're usually late to the party, middle weekend in December but maybe I will bend my rules a bit this time.... I've also had a delivery from Amazon today of a few Christmas pressies so it's begun!!
