Ally. Spain - new rules?

Spain has confirmed cases of the new variant and some rule changes could be here and here.
If you are resident in Spain, you should carry your residence document (the green paper EU residence certificate or the new TIE), as well as your valid passport when you travel. If you have applied but not yet received your document, carry proof you have started the registration process. Padron certificates, utility bills and property deeds will not be accepted by Spanish authorities as proof of residency.

Additionally, all passengers (excluding children under the age of 6 years old) travelling to Spanish airports from ‘risk’ countries, as determined by the European Centre for Disease Prevention & Control are required to present a negative PCR, TNA or LAMP test taken within no more than 72 hours prior to arrival, in order to enter the country. See Entry requirements for further details.

And:
You should not use the NHS testing service to get a test in order to facilitate your travel to another country. You should arrange to take a private test and should confirm with the testing facility the type of tests available prior to booking an appointment.

I don't want to scare you and you might already be aware, but this is a 'heads up' just in case you need new info. I hope all goes well. xxx

Thanks Frank but I got everything in order before I flew over.

I have citizenship so get automatic entry. I always have my residencia card in my purse.

I've printed off the health health form I need and have my covid test booked for 29 December.

I had a flight booked home for 2 Jan but after almost 7 hours (no exaggeration!!) last Wednesday the only date within 100 miles was the 29th at 11.15am. If I hadn't grabbed that one the next available one was January 15th! :(

It was very tricky trying to book the test then get a flight within the 72 hours time limit.

So...... I had to book a completely new flight with a different airline as ryainair didn't have anything available so couldn't even just change dates.

I'm now flying home Jan 1 with easyjet. And even then that's taking me up to 76 hours so I'm hoping I don't get a Juan Jobsworth on arrival.

Am sure you'll be ok Al! My sister-in-law's parents were turned away from their flight to Tenerife last week, but their covid tests were a whole day out of date xxx

I just wanted to make sure me old mucker. :D

It's a really fluid situation with this new variant, as Ria's thread shows. Some people have inadvertently and innocently been caught out by this and I didn't want a good mate to become one of them. xxx 8-)
