Dinner tonight

Postby JanB » 07 Apr 2021, 19:07

We do quite a few bbq's this time of year - can't in the summer, fire risk and also too bluddy hot  - who wants to stand over a fire when it's 40C something

I sometimes struggle to think of different things to do, either on the bbq or as sides.

Weird one tonight. A pork steak, a gert lush burger, cubed air-fried potatoes (as requested by Grumpy) and a stir fry of leek and mushroom (to use them up). Added soya sauce to them, as well as garlic.

D'you know what? Bluddy gorgeous. The flavours were really good together.

Another different recipe tomorrow, chicken in beer, with mushrooms and teeny onions, mash and veg from the garden.

Just not on the bbq ;)

Bit of a scratch, using-up meal tonight, as I was dashing off to the supermarket. :D
A chicken breast each, accompanied by a Chinese Chicken ready meal from Iceland wots been hanging around the freezer, some mixed frozen vegetables, and fresh spring onions.
Quite tasty, but rather dry. :|

Use a decent olive oil Ossie, I get through quite a lot of it. An acquired taste, aybe, but well worth it. We buy it in 5 litre bottles for about 10 euros.

I had chucked all the healthy salad out in the bin
So I had braised steak in the slow cook with onions and mash potato plus frozen veg
Enough left to make a shepards pie tomorrow
