Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 12 May 2021, 05:51

Good morning.

Flippin hot and sunny. 8-)

David's picking me up this morning and we're going to park right at the start of la playa and do a coastal walk all the way to Benalmadena. This was his suggestion when we met on Sunday and I readily agreed.
I don't think it's twigged with him we have to walk all the way back.

I know we're going to stop and have an ice cream at some point.

I'll make sure I have plenty factor on and my camera.

Home to shower then chill out with GB Menu and GB Sewing Bee. Bliss. :cute:

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Cool and cloudy start, not at all what we are supposed to have

Enjoy your stomp Ally :D

Off to Ourique after breakfast and do the weekly shop. <Also popping into the Chinese, as I'm on the hunt for a new cossie. I refuse to pay the stupid price C&A want, so Chinese it is.

Back to finish off the weeding, then sit and do nothing

Will finish off the chicken for dinner. Amazing how two small chickens can have enough meat on them for three dinners

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Our chino bazaars do lovely cossies and bikinis Jan and for a great price.... probably on a par with yours I would imagine.

I got two lovely cossies last week from Carrefour. A purple one with white stars and a grey one splattered with a cherry design. They were 7 euros each.

Before Jacob went away I went to oversee the cleaning of his apartment and on his lounge table was a huge mound of change. He said I could have it. So I did.

I put it all in a plastic tub and there's a coin converter machine at Carrefour. Even with the 8% commission it took I was left with 36 euros!

I then used the voucher in the store and purchased 2 bottles of L'Oréal silver shampoo, ditto of the conditioner, 2 pairs of shorts and the cossies. So in effect I paid nowt.

Good morning everybody.

Grey skies but the sun is trying to poke through.

Waiting for an engineer to come. Am changing to Virgin for broadband and phone. Want to discuss where the cable are going from the road to the house
and inside the house.
Deal is much cheaper than BT with very much faster speeds for broadband.. It is an 18 month contract and the cost will not increase.
Bt increase their prices every year.
No doubt will get a phone call from BT asking why I am leaving.

Morning Ally and Jan, morning everyone

Ally, that's a bargain... what with Brexit here I think loads of things are going up in price, or just not available or taking ages to get restocked :(
Jan, good luck with the cossie hunt - I also resent paying loads so usually buy my stuff at Tesco or Sainsbury's (and even then hopefully when it's on sale :D). Although I did splurge a bit two years ago and bought some from Debenhams - they need to last a few years now :D
Cruiser, I think the Virgin comes through your phone socket - same as BT, so there shouldn't be a need for extra cables... good luck with the conversion. Have you contacted BT about the pricing - I did and they matched the lower prices of other providers. It's mad that one has to do that every time the contract comes up, but it's worth the aggravation. And be aware - Virgin will increase their prices as well; it'll be in the small print that they can for special reasons (and amazing how many special reasons there will be)

A very dull day here again - it's just meh. Started off lovely and sunny and now overcast. I don't mind, but I just wish it would warm up - I'm tired of wearing socks and slippers, I want to wear my flip flops!!!!! :D

Usual work, a quick pop in at Sainsbury's and then over to Karl and Nadine later today (with laptop) and will stay there for dinner - butternut and bacon risotto. They've subscribed to the Hello Fresh boxes and Karl won't eat the butternut dish so I get to share it and he gets pizza - win win

Have a lovely day all x

Ally
When I was younger, we went on holiday and stayed at one of the hotels on the front in Belamadena.

We arrived in the afternoon, and deceided to go for a walk along the front.
Got nearly to Torremolinos when Audrey saw a lovely leather coat in one of the shop windows. When she went in, it fittedher perfectly.
But we had only brought enough money for a drink. So being the good husband I was, I walked back to the hotel for my credit card so we cold buy it.
Audrey sat down outside enjoying the sunshine.
It was a lovely promenade, no cars just the occasional bike

Now Cruiser, weren’t you the little treasure! I hope Audrey had many happy years wearing the coat.

Morning all, it’s cloudy here and lots of rain forecast :( Today is our 49th wedding anniversary, and our plan was a walk through the grounds of Malahide Castle, a picnic lunch from Avoca which is in the grounds, and then onwards to get our second jabs at 4.15pm. Weather notwithstanding, we’ll bring our wet gear and have the picnic in the car if necessary. We’ll also buy dinner in Avoca, they do lovely readymade meals, so we won’t need to cook.

Morning all, it’s sunny at the moment....no doubt it’ll rain at some point though.

It’s all change here again. John’s furlough came to an abrupt end late yesterday morning when the contract with Caterpillar that they’d been waiting on was signed and he was back in the office by 1pm. He’ll be there pretty much every day by the sounds of things.

Bill had his walk first thing and by the time we got back, John had left and Joe was just about to leave for college.

Al, I’ve got a pile of change that I’d saved up and my Mom also gave me some that they’d saved too (by some, I mean half a carrier bag full  ) so I need to get that to the coin machine in Asda. I’m not sure if it’s been available over the last year though so it’s been stored away in the spare room. It’s surprising how much you actually get back though isn’t it :D

Cruiser, we can’t get Virgin here. We used to have it down the phone line at our old house but they stopped that service and concentrated on cable only which isn’t in our area. We’ve got fibre broadband with Sky which we find is good.

Have a good day all :)
