The bbq this afternoon

Postby JanB » 23 Jun 2021, 18:08

We don't normally do burgers and bangers on the bbq, but Jackie gave us some homemade sausages and wanted our opinion. They don't do bbq's, as they burn things

Not a bad effort, for the first attempt, but too much sage and too much meat. 8-)

They burst open  We have some leftover for tomorrow, as we've been asked to fry this lot.

But the onions and chips were lush

Sausages and BBQs are generally a disaster - nobody knows how to cook them.

They are not "meat" so do not follow meat cooking rules, and they are not burgers, so ditto.

I have found them best left till the coals are cooler and done slowly at the end or pre-done in the oven and finished off on the barbie for that smoked flavour.

Not a fan tbh - regardless of the flavourings.

We've perfected the art of white coals for the burgers and bangers WM - these were just too stuffed with meat.

I know what you are saying, Jan, but nobody else does. ;)

Get those flames roaring and burn everything in minutes is the British way to go. :o :o :o
