After seeing an article in the DM (helpful for a change! ), we decided to go on-line on the NHS website and order the paper version of the "Covid passes" for each of us. The digital version is downloadable via the NHS App.
The benefit of the paper one (apart from being aimed at the technological challenged like me ) is that you don't have to renew it every month. As I understand it, the digital one you have to tap into it every month to keep it valid.
Anyway, simple process to order the paper version, did it Monday, they said 5 days delivery, and they arrived today - two glossy A4 "certificates"!

Just thought I'd share it in case anyone else was wondering about them. Hopefully we'll never have to use it, but they're there if necessary ......

I am of the CBA (Can't Be @rsed) camp. My days of raving and clubbing are over and if other places don't want my business then so be it.

We've got our certificates, printed off by a friend.

But as it's only for sitting inside, if the virus is that bad in our area, we won't be going out anyway

Not something to be encouraged imo. The jab doesn't prevent you from catching or transmitting Covid - so what's the point of them?

Sorry Kaz, maybe I wasn't clear. What's the point of a covid passport, really? Presumably to say you don't have covid. But even after having the jab you can still catch and transmit covid, so what's the point?

Oh gosh, I certainly don't want to start a debate on Cafe about all this really, but as you're asking! According to Professor JVT yes you can still catch and pass it on BUT the chances of having a big enough viral load to lead to very serious disease are vastly reduced. The analogy was it's like wearing a crash helmet - if you wear one, it won't stop you getting into an accident, but if you do your chances of survival are better. The passport is proof you're wearing your crash helmet.
