Merry morning Saundra and everyone - happy Sunday

A dull day here as well Saundra; I woke up to blue skies and really thought we may have a chance of a dry day - but within the hour it had clouded over and it's been drizzling and windy every since. Same as you I'm fed up.

My neighbour was due back from her holiday yesterday but apparently their camper van got stuck in the mud? Anyway - she's on her way home now. A bit annoying because it did mean a bit of a change of plan for me but hey ho - c'est la vie. I also now need to pop round there just before 12ish as she's due her Sainsbury's delivery. I couldn't delay the delivery to Monday as there weren't any slots so I'll just have to hang around and wait for them because she won't be home in time.

Then a bit more general pootling around the house this afternoon; so nothing exciting planned

have a lovely day all x

Morning Saundra and Ria.
vibes for Ally and family.
Heavy rain here this morning but it has stopped now.
Our daughter and Eliza are coming for dinner which will be nice.
There are lots of those camper vans around now aren't there? Whitby was wick with them.
Also caravans. Eliza's other grandparents just bought a new caravan this year - £20,000+ - but now grandad Kevin has badly torn his achilles tendon and they've had to cancel two trips already.
He has now had an othropaedic boot fitted and it might be on for eight weeks.
Hooray - the sun's out!
Have a nice day all.

Good morning everybody.
It has rained very havily in the night and this morning.
Went to Asda to get rid of a lot of plastic bags. It means I can park very near the two bins which are used for this purpose.
Got to the roundabout at the entrance to the car park. Before I could get to the exit, the car stalled. It would not start.
When I got out of the car the water was about twelve inches deep. So I walked to the Fire Station which was about two hundred yards away.
THey were very good. Let me make a phone call to Green Flag and gave me a mug of tea. Also phoned a friend to take me home tp get
my mobile phone.
When I got back to the Fire Station, they said Green Flag had phoned to say the recovery vehicle was on its way. So I walked back to the car.
When the recovery vehicle arrived he would not walk in the water as he had no wellingtons or change of clothes. But twi men who were in a van
also stuck in the water helped me push the car out of the water after I had helped them move their van.
The recovery truck was then able to pull my car onto the flat bed. I was hen driven home. The car is now parked outside the house. I will
not attempt to start it till Tuesday to give it time to dry out.
Now going to have some lunch and read the paper.
Have a good day everybody

Morning all :D

We just had a short shower, think it's going to be one of those days, one minute sunshine the next rain

Thinking of Ally and family xx

You're a really good neighbour Ria.
Caravans can cost a fortune Crommers, having one doesn't appeal to me at all, but a lot of people love them.
Hope the car dries out Cruiser.
We can't put bags in our blue recycling bin either Saundra. Not usually a problem, but if it falls over in the wind it's a nightmare!!

It's the last day for the Olympics, they've done so well, we've really enjoyed it. Now looking forward to the Paralympics which start on 24th, so inspiring, we often enjoy it even more than the able bodied event.

Roast chicken with salad for dinner later, choccy blancmange with orange jelly for pud. No other plans, we'll be glued to the box most of the day watching our last medal winners and the closing ceremony.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all :)

Ria, I hope your friend appreciates you! 8-) :) xxx

(((Saundra))) xxx

Crommers I think camper vans and caravans are more popular than ever since the pandemic started - it's a guaranteed holiday, as long as we can travel, and hotel/apartment prices are going through the roof! xxx

Oh blimey Cruiser, what a thing to happen :? xxx

We have similar weather Jen xxx

Mick and I went out for breakfast, took Fraggle :D Then round to see D, to help put her bins out. The green garden waste bin wasn't collected last week, as apparently they have "staffing issues" :cute: Not a problem for us tomorrow when ours is due, as we don't have much, but D's.is full so I hope they sort themselves out soon  Settled in now watching Inspector Montalbano on the iPlayer 8-) Lamb chops with baked Mediterranean veg for dinner, Becky is out with friends, belatedly celebrating her birthday at Settebello's in the Quays.

Take care everyone :) xxx

Afternoon all, a changeable day but we did have a lovely wandering about type walk. First of all, we set off to walk the top of the pier but it was extremely windy. So then we decided to walk to visit Edward’s BIL, the one who has had the cancer diagnosis. They had had two of their granddaughters on a sleepover, so there was plenty of activity! After we left there, we headed off to the castle grounds. They have a few food trucks there, so we decided to stop for tea and a muffin, they have a nice little garden set up with picnic tables. The sun was coming and going and it was very pleasant. While there, we met a couple we knew, his daughter just competed for Ireland at the Olympics in equestrian events, so that was a nice chatty interlude. Then we wandered back home and are doing not very much for the rest of the day.
