Just read it on the news, the women's final at the US Open Tennis will be shown tonight on free to air TV. 9pm.

Good luck to both Emma and Leylah. I don't care who wins, it's a new dawn.

Apart from the screeches from some the woman's game is far more watchable than the men's. I just turn the sound low.

Really enjoyed it! However, I was not impressed with Leyla’s unsporting behaviour while Emma’s cut was being tended to.

It was a fantastic achievement, but without wishing to diminish that in any way, it should perhaps be noted that Raducanu had the luck of the draw - and results - on her side.

She did not meet and defeat any of the top 10 LTA-ranked women players. Her highest ranked opponent was Belinda Bencic (11).
Ferdandez, on the other hand, put out Naomi Osaka (3), Elina Svitolina (5) and Aryna Sabalenka (2) to get to the final.
