Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 22 Oct 2021, 05:11

Good morning.

Another day of stupid heat.

It was absolutely fantastic to see Jacob yesterday...I couldn't stop looking at him.

Busy day today. :D

9am my boxes from Scotland are due to be delivered. 100kgs of 'stuff'.
I know it'll be emotional emptying them so I'm leaving them till after the weekend birthday celebrations.

Don, Jacob and I are going out for brunch and Conor will join us. :D

Back to the house for coffee and cake. :D

Tonight the four of us are going out for dinner. :cute:

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Lovely, sunny morning, but with a chilly wind  Once that drops, it will be warm 8-)

Walking cancelled this morning, one is awol, another too tires, so we've given it a miss. So cleaning it is

Off out to Ourique this afternoon, see if we can catch Manuel, to pay the insurances. He stopped at the bar yesterday, but then drove off again  Pit stop at he bar on the way back.

Enjoy your time with the boys Ally x

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning everybody.
There has been some rain but I can now see some blue skies.
Walking down to he doctors to pick up a letter as I am due to have another blood test. Then into town for some shopping.
May stop and have my hair cut on the way home.
Then it will be some more ironing-shirts and sheets.
Have a good day everybody.

Good morning all, it’s quite sunny here although quite chilly, it’s around 6°c.

I’ve just had a long walk with Bill. I bought a £15 lightly padded jacket from Primark the other week for Autumn early morning walks and I was toasty warm. I didn’t want to spend too much because coats are always getting snagged on branches, gorse and brambles so apart from investing in a good coat for very cold weather it’s not worth paying much for the rest of the year

The Tesco delivery is coming between 10 and 11 and Amazon are due before 1 as well. I’ve also got to take a parcel to the post office. Joe will be home at lunchtime, he’s not in Cornwall this weekend.

We’ll drop the shopping off that my parents ordered later and I’ve also got to pop into the M&S food shop to pick up a clothing order.

Have a lovely time with the boys, Al x

Take care all :)

Morning you lot, morning everyone - happy Friday

a really nippy start to the day today - 4 degrees only. I'm seriously contemplating putting either the electric blanket or my winter duvet back on the bed

Ally, good idea to delay the box unpacking. Have a wonderful day with the boys x
Jan, hope you get the insurance paid ;-) and don't overdo the cleaning
Cruiser, hope the letter is ready for you and hope you get all the shopping you need.
Jo, what about a waxed jacket? That should be fairly tear proof? I have a padded jacket I bought from Sainsbury's two winters ago and agree, they're lovely and warm. Want to invest in another, but longer one for this season. I've got so many winter coats / jackets I really need to donate them somewhere - no way can I wear them all ;-)

Hopefully a relaxed Friday for me - it's been a very busy week setting up loads of meetings involving lots of people across various time zones but Friday's everyone seems to pull their heads in and just finish off the bits not completed during the week. I'm taking Nadine to a local hospital for 2pm; she is having a (hopefully) minor procedure but because she's on the afternoon list, depending on how delayed they are by the time it's her turn there is a chance she may need to stay in so she's packed an overnight bag and kindle and will be quite happy I think to have a quiet night sleeping off the anaesthetic :D .

I am meant to be meeting up with a friend and some of her friends today, but may well cancel - the friends are only arriving in Woking at 8.30 this evening so by the time they get to Susan's house it'll be 9pm and Susan isn't exactly the most speedy person so it'll be 10pm before dinner is served - by that point I'll be more than ready for bed!   Besides which she hasn't seen the friends for quite some time so they'll be catching up on all sorts of things I won't have much to contribute to, so may just leave them to their own devices and catch up :D - but I'll see, may just pop over to meet them, have a glass of wine and then head home ;)

Not much else happening here - have a lovely day all

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

Enjoy dinner with your boys Ally.
Shame about your walk Jan, don't overdo the housework.

It's a big laundry day for me. We've stripped the bed, including the mattress and pillow protectors. Time to turn the mattress and put the winter duvet cover on. Usually do it the last weekend of October, but don't want to leave it till the last minute. Also expecting a call from my GP around 10.30ish, he should have the results of my ankle x-ray and I think he wants to talk to me about statins. I'm not keen, but will probably give them a go, not for a few weeks though, don't think it's a good idea to be changing meds this close to my op.

Hope you all have a good day xx

It-s now blowing a hooley, so I'm glad the walk was cancelled.

The cleaning takes me an hour  as Grumpy does the mopping now.

Jen, I must have missed something. What op?

Morning all, it’s changeable out there and noticeably cooler. Edward has headed off to the golf club. I have a list of admin stuff to do - renew car tax, send an email, try and value the house for property tax (hard to do as it is a singular house), get this month’s prescriptions. Edward has a dental appointment at 2.30 and there is also ironing to be done. Out dancing tonight.

Jan, I was wondering that too, I know Jen mentioned something a while back but said no more.

Morning everyone :)

I’m in town at the moment so will post properly later. Mick left with Harry about an hour ago, both fortified with bacon butties 8-) He’ll be back in a couple of weeks, for good, but I will miss him until then, he’s been such good company this week. I’m going up to D’s in a minute, Jeff and Jayne are up this weekend so I’ll be giving her a hand getting ready.

Back later, enjoy your day everyone :) xxx

Good afternoon.
Heavy rain earlier this morning but it soon cleared for blue skies.
We have been to get a paper, now it's exercises and a walk.
Freezing here, we might crack and put the central heating on soon.
Ria, MrsC got a lovely winter waterproof jacket from a local outdoors shop. A Regatta, reduced from £100 to £40.
Have a good day all.
