Just read that doctors receive £15-00 for each vaccine given Monday/Friday
£20-00 for a Sunday
No wonder our doctors do 1,500 on a Saturday till end of January
Yes they pay staff wages I expect
Then ask for volunteers

They are businesses Saundra they dont work for free, anymore than anyone else does

It doesn't go to the surgeries though, it goes to the Primary Care Networks who arrange all the vaccine hubs and the lead GP surgery in each PCN allocates the funding. Otherwise we would get nothing, as we dont administer any, yet our patients are still vaccinated.

What about flu vaccines Shell?
I’m sure I read that GPs get a payment for administering those too, and I’d have rather that money had gone to the surgery but it was so flippin’ difficult to get one there this year that I went to Sainsbury’s.

I am a volunteer at one of the local vaccination clinics. It is held in one of the sports halls of the local council sports center.
Six volunteers are needed to operate the centre correctly. When I went on Monday morning there were only three. I was on the entrance door, making sure they had a mask on and giving them hand gel before they were logged in.
The cleaners who sanitise the chairs also had to supervise the people waiting to be vaccinated and in the recovery section. These are paid for working as are the staff who do the vaccination and the manager. She had to help out at the check in desk as there was a long queue at times.
I am still going one day a week as it gets me out meeting people.

Yes they do get paid for those too. And smears, and diabetes checks, basically everything thats a health check.

They are limited companies now, they have to earn their money

Good for you, Cruiser. Your services are going to be in great demand over the coming months, I reckon.

Given that the "limited companies" we all pay for via our NI contributions and taxes can't be arsed, yes. Well done you volunteers, we need you.
