if yes, are you happy or would you switch if you could?
I'm looking to change my service provider; with Plusnet being one possibility. But I'm hearing rather mixed reviews (as you do with most things I know) so thought I'd just do a quick ask around on here
thanksx

I was with BT. Had a few problems but it can happen with any provider.
Got information from Virgin in May giving a cheaper deal than BT with 200Mbs and includes landline and mobile for £6.00 amonth.
If you decide to join Virgin and give my details we will both get £50,00. With Virgin, they must have already installedd cable to a
junction box at the end of the street. Most of the major towns have already been done. This means it is fibre optic to the house.
BT are slowly upgrading but most connections are still only fibre to the cabinet meaning the last few yards are still old copper wires.
This means fast speeds are still not possible.
I don't use wifi butcould easily install it.

Ria, first thing to say.... forget review sites, they cover all the spectrum from 1/10 to 10/10 for the same services with the same company. More reliable are the comments sections of computer mags, but even then beware. If you have a local Faceache broadband page try it, you can at least ask those making comments their reasons as to why pos or neg.
I am on Vodafone broadband and landline, £23 per month for up to 75Mbs unlimited (currently 67Mbs). Mobile is for calls and texts so I only ever use the landline for incoming therefore never get any call charges. Works for me.

Cruiser, unfortunately Virgin doesn't cover this area, so they're a no-go.
Frank, sadly where I live is a Vodafone dark spot, my work mobile is with them and it's the worst ever reception so I'm going to have to steer clear of them
Saundra, I'm with BT now but their rates are nowhere near what you're paying; I'll give them a call to see what can be negotiated
thanks

Ria, Vodafone broadband is not on its mobile network. It uses the national fibre backbone to the cabinet (Openreach) and then wire to the home, just like BT, Plusnet, TalkTalk etc do. My mobile is not on Vodafone it is on Smarty / 3 for the same 'blackspot' reason.
I pay £23 for the extra speed, when I took on the deal it was £19 for 38Mbs.
