Fuel availability

I visited with my parents yesterday and spent the evening with #1 daughter and grandson. On the way back I realised I'd let the fuel get down to half a tank so went looking for fuel.

Sleaford Tesco, all the Diesel pumps locked off. North Hykeham Asda, station shut. Ditto Lincoln Morrisons. I got fuel at Lincoln Sainsbury's but they had already put the fuel up 6p a litre compared to the others.

I'm wondering if this is going to start a trend. During the Gilet Jeane protests in France our 24 hour stations would reduce the max fuel to around €60 overnight and on Sundays. During working hours they had attendants.

Also not been aware of issues with supply - but then not only not been out late, I also I filled up my tank a while back and haven't needed to get more petrol. Just noticing the prices going absolutely through the roof.

Yes I was surprised. But it appears that the prices were surging and they wanted to control the out of hours card purchases. The only station open was the one which had already made its price unattractive. This morning all the stations around me had risen by at least 4p.

Even more irritating is that, as I predicted, the price of oil is falling but the price of refined fuels continues to rise.
