Running out of ideas

Postby JanB » 18 May 2022, 19:10

We've been talking about what to do for our 40th wedding anniversary for the last few months.

Discounted going up north, too hot.

Discounted going down south, too full of tourists. And will be very expensive, as it's over a week-end.

Grumpy suggested the Romba, hotel in Ourique

Turned that one down too

He's not the best of drivers, now, and is not too happy with me driving anyway (too fast).

A train up to Lisbon? Nah, too full of people.

Pop over the border? Nah, too hot.

Wit's end.

Seeing as you seem to have discounted everything here's a poem.

North, South, East, West.
Sounds like home will suit you best.

I'd have no problems thinking where to go.... :cute:

I haven't either, but every idea has been shot down.

He's a home bird, our Grumpy.

I really don't want to go to the normal local restaurants, so keeping thinking of stuff and then that gets vetoed too

I might just have a word with Jan and Joaquinha. Four Seasons in the Algarve sounds good to me. The manager is Joaquinha, the chef is Dimantino, his uncle

If Grumpy's going to veto everything just book somewhere and to hell with him.

If you fancy the Four Seasons go for it. :)

They're in England at the moment, I'll have a word when they get back.

But he can sulk, loves it when he gets there, but the thought of spending money  Oh dear me

The best price for the two night stay is just over 200€ which i think is pretty good.

But it's getting him to agree and do something. He'd probably throw a strop and stay here

Thinking on my feet here, I'll speak to Jan and we can all, the four of us, stay there for the week.end, he'd love it. Joaquinha might not, working there all week, but we can sort something out.

But it would just be the normal me cook, he eat.

We're celebrating his 75th birthday when the family come over, so would like to do something different.

The Romba is just up the road, we could stay there for a night, I suppose. Not quite the Four Seasons though  Walk to one of the normal restaurant, get piddled with the chief of police again
