Good morning Tuesday

Postby Ally » 16 Aug 2022, 01:38

Good morning.

One can see it's silly O'clock but it's so stiflingly hot I got up after lying awake and will go back to bed and succumb to the dreaded Aircon.

Had a great flight home last night, practically first off the plane, zoomed through arrivals to be met by Don. :cute:
Couple of lovely cold beers and home. :D

I have a haircut at 11am...much needed after 7 weeks  ...and the twins are coming over before 1pm. :cute:
So looking forward to seeing them.

Think they're might be a few treats in for me. :Hi:

Have a great day.

Morning all, it’s supposed to be slightly cooler at 23° here today but the humidity is horrendous - 94% according to the weather app. We’ve still not had any rain!

Had a lovely long 90 minute walk with Bill first thing.

Going to have an easier day today, the house is pretty much back to normal as I got loads sorted out yesterday. There’s still the spare room to finish moving around, just need to persuade John that my way is the best way

Have a good day all :D

Good morning all.
I hope you managed a little more sleep Ally.
After all the salmon leaping excitement of yesterday evening we then had thunder and lightning, a tremendous fireworks display and then heavy rain. All of which I missed as I'd gone to bed early.
Cloudy and grey here today but not cold ,it's rather humid.
I don't know what we're doing today, the world is our lobster.
We may go up the coast to a lovely little tearoom.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all, it’s a pleasant enough day here although very little sun. So far, my morning has been productive - a call to our landline/broadband provider resulted in a €21 per month reduction on our bill and a new modem is on its way. Now I’m off to do some shopping, Boots and TK Maxx are on the agenda.

Morning all :D

Heavy, humid, dull and overcast, rain forecast this afternoon.

Enjoy your special day Ally.
Eeek to the ironing Jan.
Well done with the broadband provider Osc, a good saving.

I spent time yesterday sorting travel insurance, some of the quotes were eye watering. It goes up enormously when you reach 70, even more over 75. The lowest quote was £760 :o In the end we decided to upgrade our current account to includes annual worldwide travel, breakdown and mobile phone cover. Even taking the monthly account charge of £13 plus upgrades for my age, medical conditions etc into account we managed to save £440 just on the travel. That's without the £138.88 it would cost to renew breakdown cover, as for mobile phone cover, we've never bothered because it's so expensive, don't need to worry now. It was all a bit of a faff what with the phone calls, registering the phones and so on, but worth it 8-)

No plans for today, don't fancy a soggy walk so will probably relax with my Kindle this afternoon.

Stay cool and have a good day xx
