Good morning Sunday

Postby Ally » 16 Oct 2022, 05:55

Good morning.

Warm and sunny. 8-)

A walk soon. I'm going to do the pine forest one so plenty of cover.

Apart from a swim later I'm planning on reading. Lots.
Amazon Kindle has had heaps of fantastic 99c offers which I took full advantage of. I have well over 100 waiting to be read. ;) :cute:

SCD, Frozen Planet and Bloodlands tonight. Perfect. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, Cruiser and everyone

Cloudy this morning, although it's still warm. And wet stuff is forecast :Hi: :Hi:

And I'd planned a bbq  so we'll still go-ahead, I'll just give Grumpy and umbrella

Internet shockingly slow this morning, turned lappy on over half an hour ago  But it's Sunday, so always slow and the clouds don't help

Not a lot going on here. Will make a hot salad for the bbq and also do the spuds. Didn't bother watering the plants earlier, although might have to, if the rain doesn't arrive. Talking to Alberto yesterday, he said it's not a lot of rain coming and certainly not enough. The Alentejo and the Algarve are really dry.

The books my friend gave me yesterday were the one's I gave her before she went back to England  so I gave them to another friend, who will pass them around :D

I've looked a the books on offer for a kindle Ally and have decided - again - not to bother. I'll stick with the paper one's.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

 That's fine Jan if you like getting books you've already read.

I was always against a Kindle but the app was on the new tablet I bought in Nottingham two years ago and as much as I'll always love paper books I absolutely wouldn't be without it now. :D

Good morning all, it’s sunny with a slight chill in the air here. It’s forecast to be 16° by mid afternoon though.

Bill had his very early walk, and he was in a hurry to get home as Amanda stayed last night after they’d had a night out in Birmingham and I don’t think he trusted her not to disappear while he was out  He needn’t have rushed though, they’ve not surfaced yet  They’ll need to get a move on though because we’ve got to be out in an hour, we’re dropping her at home and then carrying on to Manchester for a 2pm kick off.

John and Tom are on the way home from South Wales, they left at 8.30 but I think we’ll be gone by the time they get back though.

I’ve made a large pasta bake this morning for John, Tom and Joe’s lunches for the next few days. It’s in the individual containers now and is cooling ready to go into the fridge.

I’d be lost without my Kindle. It’s just so much more convenient than a book, especially if you’re out and about. I like traveling light wherever I’m going, be it a short or long journey, and if I’m going to have chance to read then a book takes up too much space in a bag. It must be around 12 years now since I bought my first one.

Have a good day all :D

Morning all, it’s a bright morning here although not much sun. Kellie is playing soccer at 11am so we will go and support her. Otherwise no plan for the day. Edward has just put his own birthday cake in the oven, I wanted to make one for him but he wanted to make his own :? More knitting and reading for the rest of the day.

I put books on my iPad when going on holiday, but nothing will ever replace books. On some holidays, the ship or hotel might have a library, in that case I would have a book with me and then get books wherever we are. Years ago, when baggage weight wasn’t really a thing, I would often bring five or six books on holiday - and read them all!

Morning all.
A quiet morning here, none too warm outside. Our son and sister in law are coming for dinner, other than that there's nothing much on. I have received my email from the physio and sometime during the day I'm going to have to man up and do my shoulder and neck exercises.
Have a good day everyone.

Afternoon all :)

Out for brunch earlyish. I put a casserole in my new slow cooker overnight - awoke to a lovely smell drifting up the stairs  Got a white wash load on before we went out.

Round to D's late morning, for a slice of delicious apple cake, made with apples from the trees in the garden. There are tons this year, I will chop loads up for the freezer.

Home to the yummy casserole - it definitely pays to add on an extra hour or so to my new slow cooker, the sausage casserole I cooked during the week had to be finished off on the hob. Probably as my old one was bigger, so the liquid was shallower = more steam! :?:

Just got back from the local school hall where Mick got his covid and flu have - I have to wait for another 4 weeks for mine.

Looking forward to the special 50th Anniversary Emmerdale episode tonight at 7 8-)

Love to all :) xx
