Garlic breath.

When I was younger and I or somebody else had eaten something with garlic in it it lingered on our breath for hours, even days. You could smell it yards away or even just by being in a room with someone who had.

Now it is in just about everything and nobody smells of it.

Is it a different type of garlic, my imagination, or have we just got so used to it that it no longer registers?

Yes, Jan, that was my bet.

I remember a Chinese takeaway opening in the 1960s and you could always tell when someone had been in there for a meal. They used to eat mints by the barrow load to try to hide it, but that made things worse - minted garlic breath!
:o
