Christmas Day plans

Postby JanB » 14 Dec 2022, 17:18

What are we all doing?

We'd normally go to Jan and Joaquinha's with Mitchell and her mum in law (that's why we go  ) to dilute A Portuguese Mum In law

This year, she's off to England, to spend time with her two other son's, who live in Liverpool and Mitchell is off for the whole week-end to friends, who will be moving back to England in February.

We have decided, rather than either Jan or me cooking, we're going out :Hi: :Hi:

No idea where yet, although it will be fairly local.

Most restaurants close on a Sunday anyway, so Joaquim is trying to find a good one that is open.

We'll have my Chris, and Doreen here on the day. Becky's going to her Dad's on the 23rd, we're going over on the 27th to pick her up, and also take Harry out for a meal :D

My niece Hannah and her fiance are coming on the 22nd, to stay overnight, on their way to see my sister for Christmas. Hoping to see my sis and BiL at some point over the holiday, but we haven't firmed that up yet.

That's what we normally do WM  with mum in law being the scrooge in the corner

She's not so bad really, but I'd hate to live next door, as Jan does

Phone call to son DIL and gran-daughter before lunch.

Will probably be going for a meal with one of Audrey's cousins. She invited me ;last year so I was not on my own. One of her sons will pick me up
so I can have a drink with the meal. Her otherson wholives in Bremen inGermany is supposed to be coming over for a few days and always calls to see.

Wil have a small tot of whisky each day to keep the cold out.
We used to go dancing on Christmas Eve and then have our parents round on Christmas day for Dinner.
THen when our son got married he came and stayed with his family so we had a houseful at times.

It will be a quiet Christmas Day at home, the only unknown currently being whether or not we invite SiL over to share the Xmas lunch.

It's just the two of us Christmas day, it's been the same for a few years now. There will be a few phone calls, a roast turkey dinner and a few drinks.
Z,M and the boys will be with us the day after Boxing day, they call it their 2nd Christmas, great fun :D
