Braised steak in onion gravy first off, then later skinned and boneless chicken thigh chasseur. I make sure that there is lots of gravy so that the instant mash and frozen mixed veg get a good soaking.
About 12 bases (7 steak, 5 chicken) for just under £14, which is pretty good value IMO.
Tomorrow will be curry day. The base sauce is made first then tweaked to make Madras, Do Piyaz, Karahi, Makhani.... I normally use chicken or lamb so there will be pans everywhere. I'll also do loads of vegetable rice to go with and freeze it in bags.
I might not need to cook again till mid January.
