Grrr!

Currently on the phone on hold to the state pension people, and have been for over 45 minutes, an endless loop of music and "Thank you for calling" :cute: I have several years of my NI contributions missing, and want to pay them before the deadline of April 5th so I can get a full pension. I tried a few weeks ago, that time I was on for over an hour before I gave up. I tried the website but you can't actually make payments online - God knows why not, you can pay for almost anything online these days

Infuriating!

YES!!!

Same as my issue with Scottish Power: "We value your custom but all our lines are busy, you are currently number x in the queue" so you stay on hold forever then suddenly get cut off. There should be a regulator with real power to stop such nonsense.

Indeed! However I actually got through :D :Hi:

That's the good news, the bad is that the pensions people don't take the payments, HMRC do although you have to speak to the pensions people first. Which I now have  :cute: I'm currently on another loop to HMRC! :x If I'm not back soon, send out a St Bernard with a flask of tea and some choccy bikkies please!

Nightmare, isn't it?

I was actually very lucky when I rang the pension bods, maybe because I was calling from here and we have a different number. My pension was sorted out very quickly, very impressed with them.

That's shocking - they should give you an option to keep paper bills. My neighbour only has an email because I set one up for her on my computer at my home. She wouldn't even know where to switch on a computer / use the internet

That is what happened with SP. The music and messages stop then you get the ringing tone, about three, as though you are about to be put through, then get cut off.

It is usually after the hour mark.
