Has been to see another solicitor about his right of way

A different solicitor this time and the letter was sent registered, but of course, as it's a post box, we got the ticket and went in to Ourique on our way back from Beja. It was put in there on Friday, but the post office is shut over the week-end.

This time, he's going to take us to court, as we are impeding his access

David and Rita are doing some building work and we agreed for them to put blocks, sand etc on the access between us two.

They have been put right by their fence and Jose Felipe is driving his truck up and down, so I really can't see the problem.

Joaquinha very kindly translated it properly for us yesterday and it's now with our solicitor.

As Joaquinha said, the man is a prat and just let Nuno reply to it.

David has spoken to Brian who told him that there is no problem with them putting stuff there, so why send a letter? Why not have a word with us?

It's almost as if he think's he has the only right of way over the land

It never ends with him, he'll find something to moan about next and we'll get another letter

I can't recall if you've mentioned if he's British or Portuguese?

It's a shame you can't all just sit round a table and sort this out amicably and civily.

If he's Portuguese maybe that's not possible in case something gets lost in translation?

Sadly, he's English. If he was Portuguese, we would not be having this problem, as all our other Portuguese enighbours are really helpful.

He's just plain weird and a royal pain in the backside.

He won't talk to us, as he's scared of us. We're the nasty people who go to the police

If they see us in a shop, they just scurry away.

Whilst their house was being built, he stayed mostly in England and Lesley would be down the bar, having fun.

She has only been down to the bar once since he moved here, with him.

And he said to David that he hoped they could be friends, as we don't have any around here.

Gawd what a giant PITA the man is!

I think it's obvious that the man has something amiss in the top storey.

We have a neighbour across the road (British), who bought a house with a lane down the side to a cottage they also own. However it had a right of way, allowed by the last owner, for the house next door to feed their geese. The people feeding the geese demanded full vehicular access. Multiple visits to the Notaire (conveyancing solicitor), turned up the fact that it was only temporary access whilst they had the property rented. So they could get to their geese without having to go through the rented property.

The neighbours were not listening.

Then they sold the house and had written into the deeds that it had full vehicular right of way to the field at the back down the lane. Of course they used a Notaire from 50 miles away. When the new owner started getting aggressive about access to the field by vehicle, our British neighbour cut the access and gave only access by foot.

So that owner sold the place, again with a Notaire 50 miles away, stating full vehicular access. The new owner is going nuts about vehicular access as they want to build 5 houses in the field.

Our British neighbour has had to go back to the local Notaire who has the deeds with the correct information every time. It is pretty wearing and also because she always wants to drag us into the fight and we want nothing to do with it. We just want to live quietly without any conflict.

It is crazy what people do when it comes down to property. The lies they will tell and the aggression they will show.

I have an objectionable neighbour. He and his partner bought the house about four years ago and then spent overtwo years doing major alterations
including building an extension at the back. I upset him as he tried to connect his broadband from my Virgin box. I cut and removed his cable
as it was on my property and he had not had asked my permission.
He has told one neighbour he shouldn't park his car on the road so that there is room for his vans. He has a plumbing business. Nobody in the small
crescent likes him orhis partner. I will never speak to him.
Am considering putting a note in the house deeds that none of his family, friends or work colleques can purchase this house.

We were telling Sonia about him earlier, his treatment of his animals etc.

Her husband is GNR and she also knows a lot of the animal welfare bods, so she's going to take it further, once she's spoken to Luis. He actually came up, on duty, when we had a problem about Brian wanting us to cut our trees down.

We’ve got new joined on neighbours. Pleasant enough couple but a bit inconsiderate. Second marriage and five kids between them aged from 5 to 14. Plus two very yappy dogs.

We hear the dogs barking a lot in the house, plus the minute any of us open a back door they’re out through the dog door which the previous neighbours installed. They bark and growl and jump up the fence, then they stay outside barking for a while once whoever has been outside is back in. It doesn’t matter what time, it even happens if I go out to the bin late at night.

We’ve got a small back garden, just 5.5 fence panels long on the boundary between us and them. We’re on a corner plot and our drive is at a right angle to the house at the bottom of our garden with the long side of the garage stretching half in our garden and half into next door’s. They’ve put a trampoline right in the corner where the garage wall meets the fence and two of the boys play on it a lot so are looking into our garden as they bounce, plus they bounce footballs on it which bounce straight off and into our garden. Suddenly there’ll be five or six balls on the lawn.

She’s a nurse who works nights and she’s put a sign by the front door saying this and asking not to be disturbed (the fact that they allow the dogs to be so noisy isn’t lost on us), so of course any parcel couriers now see this and knock on our door instead, and it’s not just there while she was sleeping, it’s hung there permanently. Also, I was expecting an Amazon delivery a couple of weeks ago and had the notification saying it was a few stops away so I looked out for it and saw the van a few doors away just as the woman next door went out to walk the dogs, walking past the van as she went. Amazon then delivered to me and a minute later knocked again to see if I’d take a parcel in for next door. She’d have had a notification just like I did!
I’ve now started saying that I’ll be going out so won’t be around to give them the parcel, but if we’re not expecting anything then I’m ignoring the door. It’s not as if she’s the only one in though as he’s said that he works from home pretty much every day. I’ll gladly help neighbours out by taking in parcels but this is taking the P.
