Very wet morning here, drying up a bit now thankfully.
Have any of you read that the Govt intend that every household will have to have 7 yes 7 recycling bins, but the final decision to be held back until after the local elections.
Cost to councils estimated to be half a million a year for seven years

One black bin and one green bin in Leeds. The black bin takes just about anything and nothing goes to landfill as it is sorted before incineration to produce heating and electricity. The green bin takes all recyclables on the list provided by the council, and that is updated every year with our council tax notifications.

The stuff in the green bin goes to a state-of-the-art recycling centre where it is manually and technologically sorted into different streams.

When I go through the terraced streets, miles of them, there are already problems with just the two bins blocking pavements and roadways, seven bins is simply not practical.

We have four bins, Blue forpaper and cardboard. Green for food and garden waste-no soil. Broen for cans and solid plastic. Black for anything else.

The adjoining council, Chorley, have different coloulerd bins.
It seems every council has different coloured bins, different disposal methods and different times between collections.

I don’t know what planet they’re on, few houses have enough space for seven bins :cute:

They are in the area of my Asian supermarket and there are millions more like them around the country.

Pic 2. That's a normal day not a collection. Pic 1. They are back-to-backs, four houses with the bins in a communal yard. How do they ger 28 bins in there?
