We had a good bit of rain over the last 48 hours which was great and so desperately needed. The air feels much fresher.

I'll have a swim this morning then walk into town to get a few bits and the post office to send off two birthday cards.

Off to Ourique this morning. Dora is going to sort out my tootsies and we'll do the shopping afterwards. Pop into the chemist and also the Chinese shop, as I still haven't got any trousers. Not that it's thin trouser weather now. Jeans and a cardi

It's another nice day here, a bit cloudier than yesterday though. We're out for breakfast in a bit, then round to D's to see if she needs any more help preparing for her visitors tomorrow - Mick's uncle and cousin, D's late sister's husband, D hasn't seen them for ages.

A grey sky but it is warm. The sun is tryingto come out. Have been to tesco befor eit gets really busy. Am now going to mow the lawn. It is the green bin tomorrow.

Morning all, it’s a nice day here. Edward has gone walking to the golf club - he recently downloaded an app that identifies birdsong and he just sent me today’s results - robin, chaffinch, blackbird, dove, wren and blackcap. I have a few bits and pieces to do, including the bathrooms that I didn’t clean yesterday I want to take out all my shorts and tee shirts to see what matches what, and also wash out my swimsuit. I’ll get out for a walk too.

Lovely news yesterday - when Michael started in secondary school, he was very disappointed when he didn’t get on the soccer team. However, he did get on the tennis team and yesterday they won the provincial championship in their category, in spite of their best player having to pull out with an injury and Michael being moved from doubles to singles. Thrilled for him. Today is the 11th anniversary of our retirement, it’s been a busy 11 years, and still one of the best decisions we ever made.

Afternoon all, it’s a dull and quite humid day here.

Bill had his walk and we were home in time to see Joe before he left for college. He’ll be back sometime this afternoon, he’s going for a run before coming home, and Amanda will probably be here before him. She’s going to see Harry Styles in Coventry and the friend she’s going with lives over this way so she’s being picked up from here this afternoon.

I’ve just cut the lawns much to the disgust of the two dogs next door

No sign of the heavy rain forecast, but we've decided to have the easy day we planned anyway. Off to the cinema to see Fast X later this afternoon. Will probably find somewhere nice for dinner afterwards.
