Good evening from Barcelona!

Postby Osc » 09 Jun 2023, 18:19

Evening all, we are coming to the end of our short break in Barcelona, we’ve had a lovely time and still have our cruise to look forward to tomorrow. After a 3am wake-up on Thursday everything has gone very well. The hotel is just perfect for us, I had asked for and got early check-in, and the weather is lovely and warm. We had a great wander around yesterday, ended up in an amazing food hall called La Bouqueria - parts of it packed with people having tapas and wine, and a huge array of food stalls. We had a sleep in the afternoon, then out for something to eat and more wandering.

Today I had booked for us to visit Sagrada Familia, the amazing Gaudi designed cathedral which we have wanted to visit for a long time. It is just stunning, impossible to take photos to do it justice. Then some lunch and on to Parc Guell, more Gaudi and a very pleasant walk through the beautiful park with views over Barcelona and out to sea. Another late afternoon snooze then out to eat, a particularly nice meal. Now we are sitting in the hotel bar, me with my green tea, him with a Baileys coffee, while I post on here, then I’ll upload some photos to my iPad. We board the ship at midday tomorrow. Hope everyone is well :)
