Vic, go to settings and find Display. Choose that and look through it (you might have to scroll down) and you should see Language. English should be a choice there.

Vic, this could be tricky depending on the new language, it depends. If the device language is changed all the menus will be in the new language. If it is a European language you might be able to have a guess and get going again, but if it is something like Thai or Cambodian..... then what?

However, here are some tips. Go to Settings, it will be a blue icon with a cog in the middle regardless of language, and tap. Now scroll down all the items until you get to the icon with three horizontal bars with dots on, something like:

-o----
----o- This indicates General management
-o----

Tap on that icon and the very first option is Language. Tap on that and the list of languages comes up and they are in the script normally used in that language. English UK should be the one you want.

If it only comes up in the language already selected there should be a + sign to add other languages and that brings up the full list.

It should have worked, Vic. I tried it on my Samsung S7 and A33 and it worked on both. Went from English to Thai and back under General Management >Language screens - had to guess when on Thai so had to use the + to get the full list of languages in order to pick English UK.

The only other thing I can think of is that you have inadvertently installed an app that has taken control. You can sort that using the second option under General Management > Languages. Hope your lad can sort it.

Good news, Vic, so what was the problem? It might help others to know if they come across the same. It's good to share. ;)
