Pre-Christmas Survey ....

So, Mrs O and I decided it might be an idea to hold a sample tasting of one of Waitrose's range of Festive Mince Pies, as launched this week.
Purely for the purposes of research, of course ....

It was the "No.1 - 4 x Crumble Top Mince Pies with Cranberry and Orange".
"Zesty mincemeat with a dash of Valencian orange oil, tangy cranberry and a buttery crumble". Only 309 kcal each

And quite nice they were too. Bigger than yer average mince pies (they'd have to be at £2.50 a pack, and that was under a special offer) and you could definitely get the orange flavouring. The crumble top was excellent!

These results are, however, subject to confirmation - we'll be having the remaining two with tomorrow afternoon's cuppa.

Cranberries, the Devils's food. Could not do them from whoever made the mice pies. Sorry Ossie. And a crumble topping, what is that about?

Give me traditional at £1.25p for six any time. Or make them at home for half the price. ;)

Yeah the orange and cranberries is not floating my boat.

Now the 4 x double depth Morrisons mince pies were excellent. Didn't look at the price so can't compare.
