What are you all doing this year?

Don and I are going to on Nerja Christmas morning for two nights.
Beach walks, great food and lots of imbibing. 8-) 8-)

Jacob and Inma are off to London on Sunday. Winter wonderland at Hyde Park is one of the things they have planned. They're heading up to Craig's for New Year.
Inma's never been to England before and is very excited. :D

Conor, Lucia and her parents are off to Granada for five days. They have a holiday home there. :D

The twins are coming over to us tomorrow and we'll have a pre-Christmas day with them. 8-) :? :D

Looking forward to it all. :D

We're actually having the day to ourselves, for the first time in about 6 years.

We normally go to Jan and Joaqium's for lunch, but Jan had an op on her knees less than two weeks ago, so they're not doing anything special. His mum normally goes there too, but she's off to Liverpool, as her two other son's live there.

Mitchell is going to another friend's house.

Bought a turkey today, the first one in many years and having a bbq on Christmas Eve, just the two of us. Got lamb cutlets for that.

New Year, we'll be in bed early, as normal.

It is Christmas at ours this year; both children, partners and grandchild will be here.

Got a chicken and have some slices of bread going stale for the sage and onion stuffing. It will be done 'upside down' under foil for the first two thirds then turned over and naked to crisp up. The veg will be in the tray under the trivet to cook in the juices. Yorkshire pud gravy and mash, but no pigs in blankets, they are not traditional and I don't like them anyway. Buttered fruit cake for afters. No Jamie Oliveoiler stuff in this place. ;)

A few of us are meeting up at the Village Hotel in the afternoon for a few beers and the Christmas Quiz. Then home and bed. Alf is the designated driver this year.

New Year... who knows?

Buckling up for a busy Christmas week here.

Christmas Eve we’re off to Norwich for the day. Really looking forward to that.

Christmas Day, my Dad’s coming here for dinner. He expects it. I always live in hope that my sister will invite him to hers one year (in all of her 45 years of living away from home she’s never invited my parents for Christmas dinner so I don’t know why I think that’ll ever change). He’s a grumpy old sod and hates Christmas so that’ll be fun. Just to add he’s always been like that and would spoil Christmas when I was little by announcing that ‘this time tomorrow it’ll all be over’.

Boxing Day he’s going to my sister’s house but we’ve been asked to drop him off at 10am to save Roger having to drive him there and back. Me and Joe are off to the match later in the afternoon.

27th we have no plans apart from eating our body weight in Quality St.

28th Tom needs a lift to the station for the train to Stansted for a few days in Bulgaria. Afterwards John and Joe are driving down to stay with John’s mom. I’m staying with Bill, he didn’t particularly enjoy staying away from home when we went down for the wedding so it’s not fair to put him through it again so soon.

29th is when they’re heading back I think.

30th me and Joe are off to Nottingham in the afternoon for the away game v Forest.

31st Tom arrives home later in the day. Might get a takeaway.

Christmas Eve, we will go into town to have lunch and take in the atmosphere. Christmas Day Miss Osc and her family are going to SIL’s for dinner but of course we will see them at some stage. My sister is coming here for dinner. Maybe a bit of a walk depending on the weather, but basically an easy relaxing day, and things already earmarked to watch on tv in the evening. On St Stephen’s Day/Boxing Day, I’m meeting up with my friend L who is home from Boston and we’ll go for a walk or to either house for a cuppa depending on the weather. No plans for the rest of the week, we’ll take it as it comes.

Christmas day will be just the two of us, it's been like that for some years now, but we're happy with that. We'll still have a 'proper' turkey and all the trimmings dinner, the only difference is Ed's cooking it for the first time ever.....could be interesting

Z,M and the boys usually come Boxing Day or the day after, but this year they will be here on 29th. I'm guessing they will still want their presents under the tree so it will just be a delayed version of Christmas Day much as in previous years.

We absolutely love everything about Christmas, it's been festive in our house since the 1st December and it will stay that way until 12th night :D

On the day it will be myself, Mick, Christopher, Becky and Doreen.

Boxing Day we're taking Becky to her dad's in preparation for flying out to Oz the following day - which is also our opportunity to see Harry, so we'll be taking his gifts.

Hopefully a quiet day on the Wednesday, then on Thursday my sister and BIL are coming, until Friday lunchtime. Not seen my sis since my niece's wedding so that will be lovely.

By that time Jeff, Jayne and Chris will be up at D's for a few days and we'll be going out for a family meal, probably on either Friday or Saturday. Chris is the nephew who lives in Qatar, whose wedding we're going to in Canada next summer :D

At some point we'll be seeing our friends Em and Dave, and a possible day out on NYD has been mooted - either Cheltenham Races, or possibly a day out at Barry Island ;)

It maybe just the 2 of us for Christmas Day or we have been invited to son and d-in law place but d- in law is expected at her mum's,but her step father's mother has had a stroke recently and lost lost the use of arms and legs, obviously she is in hosp and not expected to last but timescale is an unknown.
