The Gower is on my list Kaz but we are going to Snowdonia in April so will do that another year Accessibility doesn’t worry us, we frequently go to Cornwall so Wales is a mere short jaunt

Glad you enjoyed it where did you stay, as in town?

We have a static caravan near Alnmouth in Northumberland, fell in love with the county in 2009 so needed to get something in place. It’s not just the beaches that attracted us, beautiful and mostly deserted as they are, inland is stunning as well. Only about a half hour drive west from Alnwick is Rothbury and the Cheviots. Waterfalls, mountains, rolling hills, views….it’s literally got everything. And if you’re lucky with the weather there’s no better place.

Shell I’d never be calm on water, so ferry or cruise would never feature in my holiday wish list. I think I have a similar phobia to you!

Hi Gal

Yes all aspects of Northumberland were lovely, the beaches, the skies, the castles and we were so lucky with the weather.

I'm always relieved to meet someone else with a phobia

The only time I've been to Jersey, it was in the 1970's and I flew with three mates from Birmingham airport.

When we were going through Security (it was at the height of the Troubles), I was told to open my suitcase, and they dumped everything out on a table and rooted right through it. When they'd finished and I'd repacked it, I remarked:
"Blimey, that was a bit excessive for a weekend in Jersey!"

"Jersey flight?", the man said, "oh, sorry, I thought you were the tail-end of the Belfast flight ....."

Years ago, we used to fly to Blackpool about once a month to spend some time dancing in the Tower ballroom. Several times the flight was met by policemen with guns and dogs - I think you need to be Irish to know how that feels.
