The strongest magnet! UPDATE

Many years ago I got a shake-to-recharge LED torch for camping. It looked like an ordinary torch but with no batteries, all you did was give it 10 to 12 shakes back and forth and it charged up to light.

So, as I was doing the clear-out the other week I found it again but it would not work. I though that a LED had blown but could I as hell get the unit apart to replace it. Anyway, today I went to the shed and got a strap wrench, put the torch in the vice and began to turn... and the whole thing shattered!

What fell out was this magnet. I thought: 'That'll do for the fridge to stick up shopping lists, notes etc.'.

I did not count on how strong it was. It flew out of my hand and on to the fridge however, when I went to prise it off it moved the fridge towards me. :o

Now that's a strong magnet.

Do you think sliding it up a box cutter blade will cure it?

But certainly an eye opener.

 It doesn't need curing... I am just fascinated by it.

This is the magnet next to a 50p piece.

And here it is holding up a chef's knife by the very point.

That knife is a 25cm (10") blade and pretty heavy.
