Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 04 Apr 2025, 05:15

Good morning.

Mostly sunny and 23°. 8-)

Two ladies, both named Sue and who I worked with for the final two years before we moved to Spain, flew over yesterday for a five day break in Benalmadena. :D
They're messaging me later as I'm seeing then tomorrow for the day. :cute:
Not having seen them for 22 years there will be much chatting and catching up. :cute:

Some of my Friday beers and tapas gang are coming over tonight for an indoor beer.

Have a great day.

Morning all, it’s sunny.

There’s washing to do today and deliveries from Tesco and Amazon due. I’m also bracing myself for John’s sister to arrive. She’s invited herself and her husband to stay from tonight until Sunday. 40 years I’ve known her and she still makes me feel uncomfortable when in her presence, every now and again she throws in a question or comment prefaced with “Don’t take this the wrong way but…” :?

Hope our Saundra is feeling a bit better again this morning x

Have a good day all :)

Christ knows Jan, we haven’t even got a bed for them. Only a single will fit in the spare room so they’ll be on an airbed in the office. That doesn’t bother them though, last Summer she invited not just themselves but their son, daughter in law, toddler granddaughter and a friend for an overnight stop on the way to Scotland.
I’m cussing the fact that we’ve got a Sunday game and not a Saturday this week

Morning all, it’s dull, damp and drizzly here, bit of a shock after our recent run of nice weather. Mobility class this morning and going dancing this evening. Edward has headed to the golf club but I’m not sure if they’ll play. Today is my brother’s 81st birthday, I’m glad he is back home, I’ll be talking to him later.

Morning all.

It is nice and bright and heading for 17 °C later in the day.

The car passed its MOT last year but with an advisory for the exhaust. That is now clunking so in it goes for a repair. A stitch in time, and all that, and better than waiting for it to fail.

I will have to leave it at the garage so it will be busses and taxis for a few days. The garage is in Horsforth so I get an excuse to mooch around some different shops.

Have a good day. xx

Hello and good morning all

Wowzer Ally - 22 years? Your jaw will be sore after all that nattering    Enjoy your Friday beer!
Cruiser, as always, enjoy Chorley and then the garden
Jo, good luck with the visit and I know easier said than done - just ignore her as much as you can. Can you not maybe treat yourself to a night away on Saturday using the Sunday game as an excuse and lack of transport on the day or something? And then leave John to deal? Or put a small pin prick into the airbed so it deflates ever so slowly; they may take themselves somewhere else for the 2nd night to be more comfy?
Jan, don't overdo the cleaning. How is Grumpy doing?
Osc, happy birthday to your brother, glad he is home to celebrate. Enjoy the dancing this evening
Frank, my car also had an advisory at MOT time in January; two new tyres needed, so same as you off I went and got that sorted... needs must, but I could have done without the extra expenditure. Enjoy mooching about Horsforth

Computer time for me this morning, sorting all sorts of bits that the new company is needing from me ahead of the 14th. I think I got everything sorted (including finding an education certificate issued in 1989 that I really didn't think I had). Got a vet appointment at 2.30 and then the rest of the afternoon at home in the garden and will need to water. I really shouldn't be saying this because I am absolutely loving the sunshine and nice weather we're having, but the garden is absolutely desperate for rain.

Have a lovely day all x

Good afternoon.
A lovely day here.
We've done the weekly shop, may go out for a browse this pm.
Jo, what a pain.
I hope Saundra is on the mend.
The hedgerows are all turning green now, we have daffodils and tulips in the garden.
Spring is here.
Have a good day everyone.
