Postby JanB » 11 Jul 2025, 07:25

Grey  Warm ish though.

Another lie in :Hi:   Must be cooler ;)

General pootling today. I want to steam clean a couple of the floors as mopping sometimes just doesn't do it properly.

Treating myself to a bacon butty this morning and we'll pop down to the bar later before fish and chips :D

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning! It’s already very warm at 24°

Me and George had company on the early walk this morning, Joe came with us seeing as he’s working from home today.

Not much planned today, trying to get George to accept that a fan isn’t going to hurt him. We’ll walk him late tonight, it was about 9.30 when we went out with him last night and the temperature was just right. He had a little bit of confusion before that though, Tom FaceTimed John and he could hear his voice and was watching him on the screen but he couldn’t work it all out.

The Tesco order is coming later this morning and Hallelujah! Their freezers are working so quite a few ice lollies are being delivered  Joe’s off out for food tonight and then going to see an Oasis tribute band. He’s enjoying rubbing it in that he has tickets to see the proper ones in a few weeks.

Have a good day all :)

Morning all, it’s a gorgeous one here although it was completely foggy when I went to the loo at 6.30am. The temperature is already 19 degrees, it’s going to go higher. I had a bad start to the day when I dropped my porridge when taking it out of the microwave - the bowl landed on its base and as it was quite liquid, it splattered everywhere and I mean everywhere, floor, walls, fridge door, radiator  Being porridge, it looked like vomit. So surely the day can only get better :? Mobility class this morning and back to do very little except perhaps spend some time sitting in the sun, also there will be tennis to watch. We are not going dancing tonight, don’t fancy spending 40 minutes in a hot car to get there (if we are lucky, the M50 on a Friday is not always fun) then dancing for two hours in a very warm hall.

My sister and I had a great time at the Concert for Gaza last night, the quite small venue was packed and there was a lovely atmosphere. All the performers were great, I knew who they were but had only seen one before. We had short addresses by representatives of two organisations working on the ground in Gaza, and also a few words from the actor Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones) and the evening’s mc was another actor, Conor Mullen, he was in Soldier Soldier way back and you will have seen him in various Irish dramas over the years - he lives a few doors down from here. It was very relaxed and fun. The raffle alone raised almost €3,000, no figure yet for the total amount raised for Médecins sans Frontières.

Morning all :D

Hot 8-)

Ooops Osc, that must have made a mess, for sure your day can only get better
Wishing the birthday twins MM and Jan a lovely day :D

We had a lovely walk yesterday, it was hot, but thankfully there's usually a light breeze on the seafront. It's even hotter today, glad we didn't put it off.

Usual washing and bed change day here. I'll be sitting outside and popping in/out as each load finishes. Cream crackered just thinking about it

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon everyone :)

It's very warm here today. Mick walked Daisy early, then I went to my meeting. Mick picked me up afterwards and we went to Tesco for breakfast. We're on the move this weekend, firstly to see Aunty Rose, then to stay overnight with my sister :D Will be lovely to see them.

Jan, my floors could do with steaming, but it's just too hot  xx

Great news about the lollies, Jo :D xx

Hope you managed to stay cool out and about Cruiser xx

Osc, not to break my own rules on Cafe, but I admire the Irish stance on Gaza 8-) xx

Lovely to get that sea breeze Jen :D xx

Love to all xxx

Good afternoon.
Scorchio here.
We've been to do the weekend shop, Sainsbury's was heaving.
Some of the horse chestnut trees are going brown already, must be the lack of rain.
I was awake for most of last night, hopefully tonight will be cooler.
Have a good day all.

Crommers, when I worked in retail and the weather was like this we’d be mad busy in the morning and then we’d hardly see a customer after that, the town would be deserted. People would shop early so they could spend the afternoon in the garden.

Jo, that's very likely it.
Just read on line that two caravans were damaged by gunshots last night in New Sharlston about a mile from us as the crow flies.
The world's going crazy.
