We buy the Aldi version of Soreen malt loaf; I usually have a couple of slices for breakfast.

We usually keep two or three packs in the larder; when I buy new ones, I always place them on the bottom of the pile so the oldest one remains on the top.
When Mrs O takes one out to use, she apparently has been taking them from the bottom of the stack, thinking that's the oldest. I'm sure you can see where this is going ..... :cute:

Result? We accidentally got down to our last packet today, opened it, and found it's gone completely mouldy! Use by date was November last year .....

Had a strange call yesterday afternoon.

It was to my mobile and I could see it was a Stafford number, and I had a feeling it followed the series or numbers which the hospital uses so answered thinking it was the automated appointment confirmation line for one of the lads, even though that usually calls the landline.

The conversation went like this -

Caller - Is that Tom McDonnell’s Mom?
Me - Yes
Caller - Hello, this is Dr (didn’t catch her name) from haematology and I’m trying to contact him for his telephone appointment but I’m only getting his voicemail.
Me - Oh, he’ll be teaching at the moment so won’t have access to his phone. (Appointment letters always state that the call will take place in a 4 hour window).
Caller - Ok, do you want to me to talk through the appointment with you on his behalf or is it better if I call him later?
Me - probably best if you can call him after 3.30.

Potential for a breach of patient confidentiality there!

And The Charlatans and Johnny Marr one week later

Yikes, Jo, that's not on. You could have been anyone.

Does Stafford have a PALS system? If so, I would get on to them and make your concerns known. Mention GDPR UK (General Data Protection Regulation) or the Data Protection Act 2018.

The Dr might not have broken the law but she has certainly pushed the boundaries.

Hot chocolate with a hefty slug of brandy in it and a dunking a a couple of marshmallows, sat in front of the fire, listening to the wind howling around the house.

Yep, still winter here
