It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas...

We've made our Christmas cake, and it's in the oven :P

The house smells lovely, orangey and spicy and a bit brandyish :D
Don't tell the safety elf but it's last year's Mary Berry kit

I can well imagine that Di! We never bother with a Christmas Cake as I'd be the only one to eat it...and I'd eat the lot

I have got the Airwick Freshmatics set up with the Christmas scent though :P

The last couple of years I've bought a pretty M&S one, they always have them half price for a week or weekend, and they were lovely.
We got this kit about a week before Christmas, everywhere had the kits reduced and this was only £2 I think. I'd thought I'd make it for Easter or something. But general opinion was that it would keep just fine (the fruit is already in Brandy) so it was worth a go :D
At the same time we got a kit for spiced cupcakes with brandy butter icing, now they were utterly gorgeous although I made them half the size :)

It smells of cinnammon in here but only because the sprayed gold twigs I got for my big floor vase were sprayed with it

I love the smell of Christmas cake but not the taste  :)

It's out of the oven and looks and smells delish :)
Mary Berry's notes say it doesn't need feeding as there's 'quite a lot!' of brandy already in it - but it might get just a small dose or so ;)

For several years I've made that Black Forest trifle that Doris posted on the dm boards a good few years ago, it's expected now, I do it for the day Bb's mum and dad come so there are plenty of them to eat it :D
