When the likes of Hamza can appeal against his sentence the man who has cost the tax payers millions, we are also forced to pay for his wife' and family on benefits. We have Chowdry his ranting has been virtually ignored over the years. By all accounts permission to build a mosque in our county has been refused. However there will be appeal after appeal and discrimination and abuse of human rights will be aimed at the public and council. Of course there are good Muslim communities who must be in a state of limbo wondering what will happen next helplessly looking on with a big question mark over the word Diversity.

I must confess that I am utterly confused over this matter.

Thought For Today:
Islamic extremists are obviously using their religion to justify their actions,
but Christians cannot, because of the basic Christian principles of "love thy
neighbour", "turn the other cheek", etc. What is the answer? Why does the
human race need religions? Throughout history religions, even Christianity,
have been the cause of much cruelty and suffering. Do wild animals have a
kind of religion? I doubt it.

This article from the Telegraph states UK shops to receive Charlie Hebdo magazine despite radical cleric calling it an "act of war".

So tell me. What does this radical cleric call murdering people with military class assault weapons??? Oh, sorry, I forgot. Justice.

Honestly I think the response of the magazine is the only one possible. One of our most dearly held illusions is freedom of speech. For a large part it's true, but no religious extremists are going to shut this one down. If we just let the whole thing slide, then we might as well just roll over and play dead so they can walk over us in their hobnailed sandals.....

I'll see if I can find a copy here tomorrow, before the day is out. I'll buy one if I can.
