A friend of ours who lives in a very sleepy village about four miles away from us returned with his daughter from Europe after she had competed in an international trials bike event.

Two days after returning then found an illegal immigrant hiding in their caravan. He had "hitched" a lift without their knowing. Fortunately they didn't get fined.

Unfortunately for the illegal immigrant he ended up in Middleton by Wirksworth!!!!!!

I do feel for the migrants. I really don't think they can be blamed.

If my life were so awful that I felt I had to give up and risk everything for myself and my family to come to the UK for what I perceived as a better life then I would do everything g in my power to get here.

I don't blame the migrants for trying everything to get here - I blame our government for making it the place they want to come to!

Cheers, Debs, thanks for confirming what George and Jan could have gone through had they not been in their caravan in Nortkirque.

These people will try anything to get in.

But as for your other point, why are most of them males of a certain age range? If they were really escaping persecution where are the equivalent numbers of wives, girlfriends and children? Something does not add up.

That's pretty scary Debih :?

I think a fair amount are economic migrants rather than fleeing persecution. We don't have the room or the resources to house everyone in the world who is less fortunate than we are :? That's just life! I want a good life here for my children and grandchildren, for me they come first I'm afraid and if that makes me selfish, well so be it :?

I have to agree with you Kaz. We need to ensure that the flood gates are not left open.

My mother very rarely used swear words, but if she were here today
I could just imagine her saying, typically, "Who's bloody country is it?"
