Euro Conference

Postby KateLMead » 09 Sep 2015, 17:01

i watched the EU conference this afternoon, what a shambolic lot. The only one who came over as genuine, no nonsense and honest was Farage, the rest were simply waffling a load of verbal diarrhoea .

Has our tv news shown Farage? All I've seen is that mumbling beaurocratic imbecile Junker.

No, just Junker as far as I'm aware. Whatever you wish the outcome of the current immigrant crisis to be, the only sure and certain thing is that nothing will get sorted with the current EU bureaucrats in charge.

On this question of asylum-seekers, a thought has occurred to me that countries like Germany
might well be welcoming immigrants because of their long-term forecasts of population decline.
Do you think this might be the case?

I have read this too Aggers. The problem is that Angela Merkel announced that Germany would welcome all who manage to make it to Germany. The floodgates have now been opened which has impacted on neighbouring countries which may not have the same policy as Germany. At the same time as this announcement, she also announced that the rest of the EU countries must do their share.

It occurred to me that Germany might be more than happy with an under-class of cheap labourers, with an eye on becoming the central European powerhouse if the UK leaves the EU. But is the German work-ethic the same as the Arab work-ethic? And to what extent will there be a sea-change in German culture. Given 20 years, we could be a lonely island bordered by an Islamic-influenced super-state.

That is not to be construed that I'm having second thoughts about leaving the EU, because I'm not.

And I'm going to love watching how Spain integrates 16k immigrants given their high youth unemployment rate ......

Thing is Os, that 16,000 is only Spain's first installment.

We are only talking about the redistribution of 120,000 migrants - last year 200,000 people sought asylum in Germany alone. So we have only just (in theory) cleared 60% of last years allocation.

The 800,000 asylum seekers this year haven't even been taken into consideration yet.

Then there are the add-ons like "family re-unification" where the rest of the family comes in to follow the father or son who has got their feet under the table. Then there are the women who will deliberately have "anchor babies" born in the EU, so they can't be removed.

And as for removing those "in search of a better life" imo it won't happen. The BBC would be there with piteous images of mummies and babies crying as they are deported - you can just see it now. So there are all stopping with a hell of a lot more to come. We have to leave the EU; if Germany and Sweden want to commit cultural suicide then crack on with it, but not us thanks very much.

The German politicians might want a pool of "cheap workers".

However the public are not quite so happy.

Problems exist with discrimination, Integration and Citizenship rights.

To be honest, they have an utter cheek to call us xenophobic. In the discrimination link we see.

Author Greg Nees, writing in 2000, stated that "Because Turks are both darker-skinned and Muslim, conservative Germans are largely against granting them citizenship
