What exactly can anyone say?

New heavyweight world champion, Tyson Fury, has been summoned by the British Boxing Board of Control to explain his recent remarks about homosexuality, women and abortion. What does he have to explain? Victoria Derbyshire asked for his opinions on the subjects, so he answered her. What was he supposed to do, modify his opinions to fit the "approved" versions on such subjects?

Meanwhile, over in Googleworld, they want a "spell-checker" type filter on messageboards to filter out "hate" posts. They say it will be used to stop terrorists radicalising innocent children. Yeah, right. Then it will be used to filter out "wrong thinking" posts on the sorts of subjects mentioned above, only comments approved by the unelected and hidden censors will be allowed.

RIP Free speech.

Personally I thought opinion was like advice, you ask for it and if you don't like it you move on and ignore it.

However when you get to the press, "opinion" is just a way of pushing the belief of the press on the poor SOB who actually happens to reply.

Tyson Fury will never answer that again. If he has any decent PR backing his answer will be "That is my _opinion_ and you are not entitled to it. If I choose to give it to you then that is my choice. However I do not". In other words, F off and crucify some other unsuspecting mark.

As for filters on Googleland? It's about time people learned that Google is not the web and the web is not just google. Go muzzle them and they will go somewhere else. Ditto Facebook..

As far as I'm concerned, Tyson Fury is entitled to his opinions, and if other people don't like it, well hard luck.

I have my own opinions, and people can rant as much as they like but they won't change them.
But, then again, if people ask me what they are, I will tell them in carefully chosen dialogue.
I don't see why I should be obliged to change my views - they are my personal property.
