From support to warnings...

What on earth did they expect. The guy is on a path to direct dictatorship and elements of the Military decided to do their constitutional duty and challenge it. Hoping, perhaps, that the rest of the military would go with them.

The US and all the "democracies" around the world supported the "democratically elected" leader. Only to be followed by Dictator like reprisals.

I listened to analyst after analyst saying that the only surprise was that it took so long. That the Army had this mandate and that it was using it. That Erdogan was doing a Stalin type purge of the military so that he could take full and total control of the country.

My level of astonishment at the reprisals borders on sleep. It was totally obvious to everyone, except, perhaps, the politicians, what was going to happen next in the event of a failure. Even the innocent will be culled with the guilty to complete the purge and solidify the Erdogan grip on the country.
