The anti-Brexit pincer movement.

Anyone for going beyond the ridiculous?

Apparently one Jolyon Maugham QC is. He has set up a crowdsourcing fund to pay for a legal challenge in, wait for it, the Irish Courts. The court action is against the Irish government and EU institutions for alleged breaches of Article 50. He claims that A50 is already triggered and that:
If it has already been triggered, he argues, the Commission is in breach of its duties by not starting Brexit negotiations.

However, if Article 50 has not yet been triggered, he argues that the EU Council and Irish state are in breach of their duties by excluding the UK from Council meetings.

It is hard to argue against the logic of the two statements, and before anyone starts down the road of it not going to happen then remember the Gina Miller case.

It would never get to court, but it did. Then it would be thrown out, it wasn't. The government would use the Royal prerogative anyway. It didn't, it appealed. The Supreme court would be on the government's side, we await its decision.....

I've said it before, but this is the Remoaners tactic; to delay, obstruct and block using the courts, hoping that a pro-EU party or leader of a party will win the next election and use the election win to nullify the vote.

They are using the courts to do this, whilst at the same time loudly protesting that all they are doing is trying to get details of the Government's exit plan... they are not obstructing the will of the people or disrespecting the referendum result...

Like hell they are not! They don't even have the guts to admit that blocking, delaying and obstructing is their plan, I'd respect them more if they did.

As for the Supreme Court, it was constructed on the fly by Mr Tony Blair, and I have every expectation that most of it's members are cut from the same cloth as the Remoaners.

I agree, Cromwell, many of these tactics are to block or delay, but this case is different. This man wants another EU referendum because he claims that many people who voted Leave now regret doing so; but where is his evidence? He really is playing fast and loose with the legal system in the hope that he can eventually take his case to the European Court of Justice, hence Ireland and his opposing questions

We know that the likes of Farron, Clarke and Sturgeon want another referendum, after all they are all Remoaners, but where are the queues of Leavers wanting another vote, I don't see them? If anything I see many Remain voters now wanting full Brexit, asap. No messing, get on with it.

Unlike Miler, who did have a case re a point of law, this guy is just stirring the pot.

If this nonsense does not stop I predict people out on the streets, and they will not be singing Christmas carols.
