Boris in trouble again

Immediately the EU wallahs jump on the German Bashing treadmill.

But, wait, he might have been talking about Japan... He never mentioned Nazi, he never mentioned Germany he just said punishing an escapee "like some world war II movie".

If I were Boris I'd risk the Japanese wrath and say "I'd just been reading about the making of Tenko and it seemed like the obvious thing to say".....

Leaving the complainants looking like "foot in mouth" disease. Doubt he'll do it though. However, the point of parallels is to make a point. Boris made the point. If there are ruffled feathers they might want to go back and consider why there are ruffled feathers. I.e. if they hadn't done it then nobody would have been able to cast it up.

Honestly. I like Boris, he's good value. Plus it gives the press something to make fool of themselves about.

It's all part of the game-playing, the war of words over Brexit. The French, the EU, (and the Maltese, for goodness sake) have been dishing it out. Boris riposted, nothing more, nothing less.

That the British media reacted the way it has done tells you more abut the British media than about Boris, to be honest. There are a select number of British media commentators who are increasingly getting on my nerves with their biased attitudes, and really should be dangled over a shark tank to concentrate their minds .......

More the case that someone will come after you with a "no win no fee" ambulance chaser in tow.

Boris is a very interesting case. With dual British and American citizenship and Christian, Jewish and Moslem great grandparents, covering British, American French and Turkish, he presents a paradox where he can’t poke fun at himself without offending someone in some faith or many countries.

I like him. He is not so invested in his position as MP that he fears to say things that need to be said.

We had two terms of LivingScum as the Mayor of London. During the boom times he didn’t diversify London businesses or make things easier. He was autocratic and intolerant.

Boris, on the other hand, with his flair, multiple languages and style, saw London grow and diversify away from Finance in the bad times. Of course the press only want to show him tangled up in a zip wire or looking windswept on a bike.

Whilst May is standing up and telling the world that the UK will be “open for business” once it gets out from under the “rubber curtain” of the EU, Boris is telling the EU “stop being so intolerant”.

Works for me.
