The press is full of the fact that Facebook is going to crack down on fake news. One of the methods is going to be the amount of time people spend reading what is linked.

Great, so you post something which is of interest to 56% of the UK but the other 44% who will never believe it get there first. Facebook has shut down the account before the people who want to read it get there...

Nice. Ah well there's always twitter.

What I find interesting is that there is not a single word of caution to be found on Google News over this.

I can't tell. I'll need to see some results of how it works but it looks like it can be manipulated by governments and media.

Time will tell.

Note to the authorities: If I want to read fake news then I will do so. If it is not on faceslap I will go find it somewhere else. The only way you are going to stop me is to close down the whole Internet. Now sod of and do some real work for a change.
