Exit from Brexit!

A march on Westminster, calls for another referendum, calls to bin Brexit. Please behave. What do we do, keep having referendums till we get the "right" result?

We had a vote. It was close. I voted Remain, but my side lost - tough.

I honestly do believe that things will be extremely tough in the short term, and even into the medium term. But I also hope that in adversity we will pull together and come out the other side much stronger. What we do not need is for factions to form, all pulling their different ways, and I will be looking long and hard at our politicians to take the lead at working together for the whole country. Well, I can hope.

We have been punching above our weight since the end of the war. Maybe Brexit will turn out to be the 'reset' we need. Time to stop poking our noses into the business of every Tom, Dick and Harry and focus on ourselves for a change. Not in an isolationist way, obviously, but by being self-assured and firm, but friendly.

As I have said before, the British people voted narrowly to leave the EU.
The problem is that the vast majority of the political class, most of the broadcast media and big business are utterly determined to ignore that vote and keep us in the EU.
Labour now wants to keep us in the single market, customs union, keep free movement and keep us subject to the rulings of the ECHR.
Which seems like full membership of the EU to me.
I don't think this is going to end well.

I believe this also. I'm not in the "it will take 10 years to negotiate anything and we'll be in the wilderness and bankrupt during that time". That is total ballcocks and the leftover from project fear.

It will, however, be a journey which will take hard work and forbearance.

I also believe that the UK will emerge much, much stronger from the other side.

It's about time that all the lies of Blair etc stop. We are now locked into the firing tube and we're going to be fired out of the EU exit gate as soon as can be agreed or after 2 years; whichever comes first.

What the EUphiles regularly fail to account for is that there is a huge movement in the EU which is hampered by the UK blocking them. We gave them the opportunity to eject us and they are going to make as much of it as possible. It is, to all intents and purposes, out of our hands now. We triggered the exit but they are managing the journey.

All we have control of, now, is how hard a break that exit will be. The rest is in the hands of the Eucrats

Step forward Tony &^($!ng Blair. Why the media gives this despicable man any air time is beyond me, but still.... He says the UK should negotiate with the EU to put new curbs on FOM in place and tighten existing rules to allow for an 'emergency brake' in certain sectors. This from the man who presided over the open borders policy, the policy that was one of the catalysts for Brexit. When the EU expanded in 2004 countries were allowed the 'emergency brake' he now speaks of. The rest of the 'old' EU applied it, the UK -under Blair- chose not to.

You see, what Blair is asking for already exists. That is also part of the reason Cameron came back with nothing - there was nothing new to give - all the EU could do was reaffirm the existing situation. What Cameron was trying to do was parry the blame for the UK's failure to apply the existing rules onto the EU and they refused to buy it.

Blair also forgets one rather large stumbling block in his attempts to keep the UK in the EU: Brexit. There was a vote, Blair. Those wanting to Leave won. Which part of that do you not understand. Now go crawl back under your dung heap and let the rest of us get on with trying to make Brexit work.
