He speaks well....

... that Nigel Farage.

I watched the ding-dong between him and Sophie Raworth and he held his end up arguing for his party's policies.

Meanwhile, back in the Tory camp, we have the mess of them not knowing where they are or what to do.

Hague says:
"What we have to do is make sure we follow up and communicate properly the things that we are succeeding in in government." In other words we have to tell the electorate that we are doing well.

However Bernard Jenkins offers this:
"This isn't a crisis for a government but a crisis of governance. We're living in a country where politicians talk about fixing things... but they seem powerless to deal with it.

There is a real sense that the whole of the Westminster village is living in its own world talking in its own terms and has lost touch.

A small professional managerial class is running British politics and they have very little to do with the ordinary lives of ordinary people up and down the country.

If we're going to avoid an Italian situation where comedians start getting elected then the whole British political establishment has got to be forced to engage much more actively with what ordinary people are feeling."

Preach at us or listen to us: Which is it?

I heard Hague, I used to think he was a good example as a Conservative, I had a lot of time for him changed my mind somewhat of late particularly when we learn that we are getting more involved in Syria.. Tragic situation and my heart bleeds for the dis-possessed, the suffering of the families the deaths and the the shocking living conditions, shortage of food.. My conscience shouts get involved, but then I think couldn't we help in practical ways, better allow these people sanctuary instead of the masses of Eastern Europeans making their way here..
stated when B'liar "That Peace Envoy" invaded Iraq that he would de- stabalize the Middle East I was not wrong..

I went right off Hague over the pathetic way he scuttled over toe America, cap in hand as soon as they were elected. I dont know what he hoped to get there other than a flea in his ear which he no doubt got. I see Cameron will not "lurch" to the right just continue lurching from crisis to crisis I suppose. :(

I agree pederito, I think he is another opportunist with some B'Liar tendencies when it comes to interfering in other peoples problems..He likes the sound of his own voice like B'Liar. What a state this country is in.. "God Save the Queen" (she is just about the only individual I would give my support too in this country and she is worth her weight in gold")

Farage does speak well on TV - which is why he doesn't get very many chances to do so. I do like his style.
Compare this with the Andrew Marr show on BBC - at one time Ed Balls and Yvette Cooper seemed to be guests on alternate weeks!

Anyone outside the mainstream parties will get attacked by the broadcast media, hence Farage's attempted grilling by Sophie Raworth. This even applies abroad - the BBC's coverage of Beppe Grillo's 5star party in Italy was pretty contemptible.

We also have an English Democrat (now ex-English Democrat) elected Mayor of Doncaster. I tell you, Hitler would have been given a better press by BBC Look North than he has had, lol!

I wholeheartedly agree, Kate. I just wish she had more power.

We saw live the famous episode of "Question Time" when Mary Beard made a right *** of herself with her condescending comments on immigration and was correctly called out by the lady in the audience from Boston. Nigel Farage was on that panel and yes, he was an excellent speaker and his challenges of the mainstream politicians (Grant Shapps was one) were precise and right to the point.

Hague lost it for me a long time ago but quite honestly, his latest and dismissive comment that the UKIP voters in Eastleigh were merely "having and indulgence" drove me to absolute gobbling gibbering wrath.

UKIP have two years to get their act together and prove they're not a one man band. I think they need people a little more heavyweight than Neil and Christine Hamilton ..... :D
