Western bias reporting

I'm sure everyone has heard about the category 4 hurricane, with sustained wind speeds in the 140mph bracket, bearing down on North Carolina. It is all over the press.

How many have heard of super typhoon Mangkhut, with sustained wind speeds of 175mph and gusts up to 203mph? It is heading for the Philippines and Hong Kong.

I thought it was quite interesting as I always go to wunderground to check on tropical storm progress. Wunderground is such a great resource for it. So imagine my amusement when I find a cat 4 storm being reported when a storm pushing over the bounds of cat 5 is not found easily in the UK press...

True Suff. I did see a bit about it on Sky weather, I think it was.

I'm just glad I don't live in a place that suffers from such awful dangerous weather.

Yes, Sky has been reporting it, as has Reuters, but it is not front page.

I see there are now calls to introduce Cat 6. for storms with sustained winds over 190 MPH. A few have come close with extended gusts, Mangkhut comes even closer.
