Being somewhat older than most of you, I perhaps have witnessed more of the changes in the lifestyles of humans which are the reason
why future prospects for human life have changed so dramatically. When I was a schoolboy, my family lived in a road of about 50 houses
in a then modern housing estate, and the total number of cars in it was about two or three. Today there must be getting on for a hundred.
Overseas holidays then were practically unheard of, and nearly all workers walked or cycled to work, and children walked to school.
There needs to be some drastic changes to the way we live now, if we are to save the planet.
