Kaz as a rule they will go for the easy target first which matches what you are saying.
WM on the original clip on the village fb page you could hear someone in the house shouting that the police had been called, also those on the outside shouting "faggot" and something like "send him out".
People are openly suggesting a drug debt or he's been messing with someone else's wife. The last one would make most sense I think.

Cromwell, apologies, I thought the video was the whole thing, but of course it was the DM cut.

Kaz, I was running with the 'known to be away' thing and them working to that. Obviously some (visible) security measures do deter some of the opportunists.

Well crommers, I think I would prefer something like this for the software

https://www.ispyconnect.com/default.aspx

Plenty of WiFi hardware on ebay. You can use an older PC for the server if you have one.

Then I think I would have a siren or two from alibaba for a 200db siren which is hard to get in the UK. This can be switched on via a remote socket when you have reviewed the video. After all you don't want 200db screaming out to scare the neighbours cat.

As for the personal security thing, I'm thinking a good British Quarterstaff and lessons. A very dangerous bit of wood, a quarterstaff, in the right hands. Just don't chase them down the street, you're not allowed to do that.

I have a nuclear warning siren as the alarm on my mobile - it's about 200dB - joking (about the dB, but it is loud!). :o
