I am glad I am now retired and have a company pension as well as the Sate pension.
Have had a self emplyed electrician come to fit more sockets in the garage, He said he still has plenty of work as he can work in rooms were
there are no other people.

Am having Virgin to install broadband. Again they will be able to work inside rooms on their own. Other work will be outside.

It is the large firms which have problems such as car and garment manufacturers which have problems. The owner of a small company who sells blinds and ownings still seems to be working as we see his big van driving up the crescent. Saw a report in the DM this week which said a small scaffolding company could not start contracts as some emplyees o furlough would not go back to work. So firms may go under even if they could stay open.

My son was furloughed along with most of the workforce. A couple of weeks later he was asked if he would like to work from home. They supplied a computer and a business phone line. He was been working from home ever since. Recently the firm started to bring back its call centre staff to the main office. Because of the 2 metre rule desks had to be re-arranged and only so many could be accommodated. So some workers are still furloughed. Hopefully everyone will come back eventually but it must be worrying for those who are still waiting to return to work.
