I agree as well Suff. We will all have to be as careful as possible but we cannot remain in lockdown for ever. Already the virus has mutated and is continuing to mutate. Vaccines will have to be continuously developed and improved to combat this. I have had my jab but remain pretty much the way I have done since the beginning of lockdown last year. I would be happy to cautiously engage with shops and cafes once again and to see family members. It would also be nice to be allowed back into Wales to visit my caravan.

So how long is "much longer"? February the 31st, the 12th of never? And whose numbers do we go by when deciding: yours; mine; hers; his or theirs? The truth is nobody knows. We will go on as long as we need to go on for; hard though that is to accept.

I would love for things to open up and for us to get back to normal, even if it takes time, but I am relaxed about it. That time, however, has to be right and no one knows when it will be. Attempting to put fixed dates on when this or that will happen is not doing the mental health of many of us any good at present if I am honest.

The other day it was "data not dates", which seemed eminently sensible. However, Whitehall now has a blueprint for a rapid reopening of the economy.

Schools will reopen on March the 8th. Students in higher and further education could be back in April along with the opening of shops. Later in April hospitality venues, hotels, leisure facilities and sporting venues will open followed by entertainment venues and more sporting facilities in early May.

They all sound like "dates" to me. And what if the data are such that those things cannot be allowed? All that will have happened is that we will have been builded up only to be knocked down again. Our already fragile collective morale will take even more hits - will they never learn?

Nope because everybody wants to know dates, not data.
