A waste of money?

So the fact that the royal family has already paid for it is, in your mind, irrelevant?

Not only that, they keep on paying in, net, every year.

Why can't we sequester some of that money to pay for it and to run it?

You keep swerving the point. The "public" and the Government, won't pay one penny of this. Because they just need to fund it out of the money the Royal Family has already give them and continues to pay them. Instead of spending it on??? What???

To my mind this is a perfectly good way of spending some, not all, of the excess money the crown lands pays into the public coffers. In fact, to my mind, every penny they pay into the public coffers, over the sum needed to keep the trappings of state in place, should be sequestered and used for royal functions and royal requirements. Only when it reaches obscene levels should it be disbursed, by joint agreement, to the wider treasury.

That is how I see it. Instead of this constant carping that the RF "costs us money and are a waste of space". Nothing could be further from the truth but the truth, in the situation with the monarchy, is something the press hate to go into. Because we, the people and the government, will look so bad.

So stop dodging the issue. It's already paid for, will continue to be paid for and that is the end of it. If there is some argument other than money for not doing this, I'll listen. Money I won't.
