Exactly WM, agree with all of that. The point above though? Very early in my Army career some of the guys from our trade training school were badly beaten up at a greasy spoon in the next village. True to type, 2,000 of our "lads" descended on the village wanting to know where the culprits were and insisting they were going to tear the village apart until they were presented for "justice".

The sergeant of the guard turned up with two of the guard. One of whom was on my intake and we trained together. The guy was huge, 6'5, he was carrying a pick elf. That is a pick axe handle which has a thick metal sleeve on the end where it slides into the pickaxe head. Literally a lethal weapon in his hands.

That guy told me that facing 2,000 irate and troublesome men was the most scary thing he had ever seen in his life.

Whilst the Police train for this, you have to be there to see and feel the situation.
