It is all a bit confused at the moment. Some reports say one suspect arrested, others say he was shot dead. Police officer at MIT shot dead as well.

But, yes, white males, armed and dangerous and obviously well prepared with further devices and plenty of weapons.

It will all come out in the wash soon enough now. I thought the young man in the white hat looked a bit like an arab, but that probably means he comes from WASP stock going back to 1600. Thoughts and prayers to all the victims and their families, including the police officer shot dead today.

A teenage boy wrongly identified as a bomb suspect says he still fears for his life despite being cleared by the police.

Sulahaddin Barhoum, a 17-year-old Moroccan, who moved to the US with his family, told the Daily Mail:

Late last night friends started calling and emailing me – they said my photo was all over the internet, that I was a suspect in the Boston bombing.

I was terrified, I have never been in trouble and I feared for my security.

I called a friend to take me to the state police – I walked in to the lobby and told them I thought I was wanted by the FBI. They didn’t know what to make of it.

I was there about 25 minutes but I was very frightened. I still am – my photograph is all over the internet and I worry that someone, a mad person, might come after me and my family

Poor bloke. I wouldn't fancy being in his shoes, given the excitable trigger-happy state of the average American resident ....

CNN are saying one is dead and the other is on the run. They're two brothers and are originally from Chechnya and then, as a family, went to Khazakstan (??) 7 years ago before going to the US.
